Grading guide
Every ball is washed, dried and graded before it ships, so you know exactly what's in the box. Start with Mint. Drop a grade when price matters more than looks.

Plays like new
Out of the sleeve, basically.
Mint balls have no visible marks, scuffs or discoloration. Most were hit once or twice before they found the water. Same flight, same spin, same feel as new. May carry a very minor pen mark (a dot, line or small logo).
Who it's for
Your gamer ball. League nights, member-guests, any round where you're keeping score.
Faint blemishes
Same flight. Smaller bill.
Near Mint balls may show a faint blemish, a logo mark or small pen marks. Nothing that damages the cover, nothing that changes how it flies.
Who it's for
Weekly rounds. The same ball as Mint for less, if a faint mark doesn't bother you.
Scuffs, plays well
Lived-in look. Same ball underneath.
Good balls carry scuffs, pen marks or discoloration. They still have the same core and cover, so they still spin. Made for practice, scrambles, water holes, new golfers, and trying a tour ball without paying for a new dozen.

If you're keeping score, Mint. It's as close to new as a used ball gets. Near Mint is the same ball with a faint mark and a smaller bill. Good is for practice, scrambles, water holes, new golfers, or trying a tour ball for less.
Mint and Near Mint play like new. Good balls wear their scuffs and pen marks on the outside, but the core and cover are the same ball, so they still play well. The grade is mostly about looks.
Yes. Every ball is checked against what that model should look like. Cuts, cracks and water-logged balls never make the box.
Because it looks like it's had a round or two. Scuffs and pen marks are cosmetic; underneath, it's the same core and cover.
